I don't see where he indicated that they would benefit.

We have seen governors downplay and deny a particular med because Donald Trump mentioned it.

We have seen governors plead for equipment and hospital rooms and put the onus on the president to deliver, only for both to go unused when delivered.

None of that benefitted them. They were simply playing politics/

John Bel Edwards is in his last term with no political path beyond. He really doesn't care.

I’ve been saying for three weeks that Florida and Texas will lead on this. They will give cover to the lightly hit midwestern and Rocky Mountain states to restart things

To answer the angry guy in this thread. Democrats are much more invested in a one size fits all approach. Omaha does not need the same policy and precautions as New York. Hence, Blue States will be slow to get back to normal.

So this was just a circle jerk and not a real conversation.. got it. At least explain how any blue state governors will benefit from an extended lockdown outside of “flattening the curve” further if they feel their states need it.

They can't. It's just magnificently stupid snowflakey nonsense.

His CV response has been getting hammered I consider myself a right leaning independent. I’m not a tin foil hat loon from the left.

Intelligent response. I’m asking for the guy to provide some facts, he cannot, and I’m the moron.

You can look at how multiple blue governors have approached this.

Hell, the blue mayor and county executive of Saint Louis will be a pain in the arse in lifting the restrictions going back to a more normal life.

The left thought they had a cudgel with which to beat Trump politically with the virus. They’ll continue to try to maximize the political value of the situation.

I’ll believe this when I see it. These same Republican governors where the same ones that implemented these restrictions.
Eagerly.

Dem mayors and governors have been doing and saying some concerning things if you've been paying attention. Garcetti is calling for LA to be completely shutdown for "many months", Northam has VA on the longest shutdown in the nation while they don't even have a particularly bad outbreak, Inslee is now calling every COVID death "preventable" and talking about being locked down until the virus is "eradicated" (which doesn't make any sense), Whitmer has banned Michigan residents from being able to buy seeds or car seats, the dem mayor of Louisville tried to criminalize drive through church services and had the DOJ step in, etc.

I doubt this is all due to a massive dem conspiracy to hurt Trump. I think part of it is ideological differences between the parties. The dems are all about feelings and virtue signaling and are now caught in this weird, emotional virtue signaling feedback loop.
