necessary evils. guess the $2 flip flop guy will have to figure something else out.

but those businesses are seasonal, so this is a longer offseason.

Can they? If this is an option then by all means do it and open.

And the hotels?
And the Airbnb owners?

So who was right? Was it a decent sting blow to their health and safety? Or was she just being Karen?

Sooooo....which one of those is you? "Quaint bungalo near beach" owner? Something tells me this is it.

I have a buddy that owns a bbq/bar within 2 blocks of the beach. At this moment, for him it is what it is. However, he did retire there and just idles by locals in the offseason....which this is similar to.

Shops...what shops? The 5 for $10 t-shirt shop? The free sand dollar with $5 purchase?

She may actually have a point here though.

not the one she wants

The point is to open all the fricking beaches.

You would have to accept it as a personal challenge to violate distancing guidelines on a beach.

Something didn’t tell you right. You think the only shops on tybee are flip flop and T-shirt shops?

Open it up. If you are scared. Stay at home until you surround yourself at Publix.

This is just one big pissing contest between the State and Tybee Island HOA.
The Governor shut down the St Patricks day parade the morning of. The local government turned their heads and let it happen anyway. Tybee Island is open for business. Every kid for 5 counties showed up. Couple of days later they lock it down.
Governor opened up beaches. HOA got pissed and closed the boardwalks.
HOA claimed that they didnt have the police force to manage it. Governor sent State Troopers. If you need a Trooper, they are at Tybee.
I wave to them on the way to the beach. As long as you are not carrying a chair or umbrella, they arent getting out the air conditioning.
