Man that’s pretty spot on. I took my money and moved here because of the stuck in time, less people and cheaper aspect of this state. It’s like living in fricking Mayberry with guns and pine trees.

I love my town of 900 people with its two good restaurants and Mayberry atmosphere where kids bike and ride golf carts down the street, still go trick or treating and Christmas caroling around town

We are probably the last town in the delta worth a shite. Tight knit community that cares a lot. Our Rotary, Lions and Freemasons have more members than the much larger delta towns do and over half are younger men. We just refuse to let the town get overrun with the criminal elements the other delta towns have. There are local people who buy up vacant homes here and remodel them and find good young families to buy or rent them. You cannot hardly buy a home here unless you know the right people, they won’t get listed publicly

I’m over in Donaldson Point in Gunnison. Family is from Shelby but over time all moved out to the woods along the river.
With each passing year the urge to one day nope out of society and move up here grows stronger. Pretending the rest of the country doesn’t exist while I’m up here has become too attractive.

I get so used to everybody around me being normal that when I travel out of state especially to a bigger city and see just how fricking weird and disgusting most Americans are on top of how many foreigners are here I’m just like frick this take me home I don’t want to be around any of these people. Im more comfortable around delta black folk than I am most white people in other parts of the county. I feel like they look at me like I’m the weirdo in public wearing a nice button down, nice watch, with Ariat jeans and ostrich skin boots.
