Yep. Hacked is common nomenclature for successful phishing attempts. And you know that.

best part no one even talks about is that at least 12 of those agency had no reason to be briefed in or had any knowledge of anything related to the election or spying attempts related to it.
the coast guard doesnt get daily briefings on or take part in national security as it relates to elections or political corruption.

Why wouldn’t the IC wanna know what info is now in the hands of enemies? Isn’t the first thing done when there’s a breach is a damage assessment? How can they assess damage without the server?!

A) That’s a pretty significant goalpost shift from ‘how do we know it was the Russians if we never looked at the server’
B) Not to be too cynical, but I’d assume that the NSA already has a majority of the contents of just about every server in the country

A: not following you, you’re the one who said the ic didn’t have any interest in the server. Why not? There could be many reasons but none of them are good.
B: they probably are which begs more questions...

A) I was refuting the assertion that the IC relied on the crowd strike report to identify Russia as the source of the attack
B) Agreed

There were some Russian groups putting content out on social media sites, but I don’t know what or how much. Supposedly it wasn’t very much.
And given that the internet has no borders, that’s always going to be nearly impossible to police.
Unfortunate, but that’s the world we live in now.
