NUL is the reason the Feds haven't sunk Marc. Corrupt bastard. He made Mr Nagin in his mayoral years look like Mahatma was running the show. That's how corrupt the guy was.
I don't think the Feds wanted to battle with the NUL and Marc knew it that's why he ran to ATL and hid behind them.

quote:In what sense have "plenty of GOPers bowed to the UL and NAACP?" Making token Party of Lincoln speeches where history ended in 1964? Paul is the first Republican I've seen trying to sell the GOP to the black communities as a positive force for criminal justice reform and voting rights. The Democrats will bang him for libertarian waffling on the Civil Rights Act and Republican leadership will undermine any good will he creates by doubling down on the law-and-order bullshite and ignoring his reform bills. But at least he's trying something new and acknowledging the fact that there are ways in which blacks still get a raw deal. Compared to the usual tone-deaf "Democratic plantation" bullshite, that's a quantum leap.
Plenty of GOPers have bowed to the UL and NAACP because if they didn't, they'd be branded as racists (and are branded as such immediately before and after their speeches).

I have been closely following Paul Politics since 2000, and this is the first time I think the message actually has a chance.

His dad really fricked up in the 1990s following Rothbard into the paleocon fever swamps. God that shite was embarassing.

If there is anything that reality TV has proven, it has to be that Praxeology is flawed.

I just did a basic google search. The articles say not many people showed up - the auditorium was half-full. They blamed it on the fact that the speech was at 8 am. The responses were also kind of mixed. See here:

At least he is making attempts and putting out a positive message and trying to broaden the appeal. The GOP could learn a ton from this man, but they are too busy rolling on the floor laughing their arse off at him.

Bump for a republican doing the right shite and being an unstoppable juggernaut that should be impossible for democrats to stop.

Oh, people are stupid. All it takes is repeating silly talking points and he'll be on the defensive.
quote:
"I think he's got some worthy things to say, but it's really about the track record and a long-standing commitment to this community, African American community, and I've not seen it," Wharton said. "I'm not sure I can be convinced by him."
For those who claim many in this "community" doesn't engage in group think.
quote:
Paul's support of charter schools and school vouchers indicates he's out of touch with many in the black communities, said Norma Richards, of Columbus. School vouchers and charter schools siphon money from public schools, she said.
"I think that he is a little removed from the realities of the community," Richards said. "He talked about school choice, when you talk about school choice, you're talking about diluting the money that goes around education."
The education unions can easily manipulate the majority of people, they've got a shite load of money.
I've notices political ads on both sides of the aisle seem geared toward primary school students, or that mentality of late.
