Only a dirty thug or a communist would be against flock cameras. You have no expectations of privacy in public. If you want criminals to get away with crimes then just say that.
If solving crimes was the point, then you would be correct.
But despite decades of new surveillance technologies - traffic cameras, ring cameras, cell phone cameras, license plate readers, GPS tracking, improved dna and fingerprint technology, closure rates on crimes have not improved, and have actually decreased in many cases.
So what is the point?

Have flock cameras helped to get greater than zero criminals off the street? If the answer is yes, then I don't care about cops looking at ex-girlfriends or whatever else
You clearly don’t think things through

This is exactly it. We already have a surveillance state. I live in a neighborhood with a “virtual gate” ( ie cameras on every corner) and my local police department has plate readers on all of their squad cars. Nothing about flock cameras take away any more of my freedoms that I haven’t already lost. There is no more privacy any more——fricking Roombas have cameras/recording, your laptop cameras can be accessed remotely, your Alexa, Siri, and Xfinity remote controls are currently inside your homes and zero outrage. Your cell phone has tracking that can be accessed by law enforcement. My across the street neighbor has a ring camera recording every time I leave my home. My next door neighbor has a ring camera that captures my back yard and pool area. Companies track every move I make on line and are allowed to customize what I see the next time I log in and every question I have ever typed in to my private computer inside of my own home
I get the knee jerk anti-surveillance state response to these cameras, but I fail to see why this is the breaking point.
Thank you. The simplicity of awareness.
The fact that these goobers can't see they are having the same game plan wrapped in a different shell:
-Defund the police
-No body cams
-Security cameras are racist
-Etc
The hypotheticals are incredible.... Next manufactured global pandemic, in case I need to go somewhere under lockdown, this flock camera will be what holds me back! I don't want someone tracking me to my fishing trip! This is literally the white man version of no kings and you doofuses are eating it up.

Flock Safety cameras have directly assisted law enforcement in making numerous high-profile arrests, including capturing suspected serial killers, locating kidnapped children, and tracking down suspects in homicides and fatal home invasions.
I, personally, would feel like a gigantic human piece of shite if I was upset about a hypothetical fishing trip in which a random camera logged my insignificant information and nothing ever came of it, but I cut that bitch down - and then people were serial killed, raped, trafficked. But, you know, no kings no kings.
Listen old guys, you got scammed, snap out of it

Because I don't drink, smoke weed or break laws? If so, I am guilty. I am also the guy who gets drunk and stoned friends home safely that night because they think they are ok to drive.

It isn't a thread on flock cameras. It is a thread on Rand Paul not being able to understand basic sarcasm and failing to understand that the Darh Vader bit was actually someone who agrees with Rand Paul and is against them.
I live in a small town so "flock cameras" have very little impact on my day-to-day life. Cameras are everywhere you shop and if you go to big stores like Walmart the have facial recognition and surveil you the minute you drive into their parking lot. I have lived on this Earth for 54 years without breaking any laws outside a speeding ticket. Cameras do not bother me in the least.
Are you from Oklahoma? So is Gary Busey. He and I graduated from the same high school (Tulsa Nathan Hale). He is 10 years older than me.
He is a full-on loon. So, Rand missed some obvious sarcasm. He's a busy man, but he's far from being Gary Busey.
