Sad statement on this country when game-playing is good politics.

His dad didn't play games. That's exactly what this country needs right now. I don't know about you, but I've long-since had my fill of the game-players.

I think what Rand has realized is if you play it straight you can win 8% of the vote.
If he really believes that's the reason, then he's dumber than I thought.

He wants 52% of the vote, an electoral college win, and a mandate. This is just the cost of doing business.

If he really intends to do what is necessary to become President, then he'll be no better than the puppets before him.

His dad spoke truth to power. That's the overhaul this country needs. What we don't need is another puppet.

Man, I'm with you. I think I remember you being a libertarian in previous posts (apologies if that's incorrect).

But let's get practical here. You can speak truth to power all you want like Ron Paul did, and you'll get single-digits. That doesn't improve the country.

What if Rand will enact the same, or very similar, policies, as his dad, but just uses a different strategy with the media? What's so wrong about that?

The one big difference will be the way the media handles this. They were "all in" on the Dem's phony charge in 2012, but I have a feeling they will see this as simply being mean-spirited.

And the drama will play on and nothing will change.....Again.
The elite will once again choose the President and the sheople will fight amongst themselves over who said what to whom.

The country needs someone who can actually do something.

Its easy to be idealistically pure, it is harder to get something done
You're making my point.

The system is set up and the sheople follow along with it. The elite put another puppet in the White House and nothing changes.....Again.

It's truly ironic how the sheople actually believe in their souls that doing the same thing over and over again will somehow.....SOME DAY.....produce different results.

Well, the hyperbole of 2012 resulted in an incompetent boob being reelected, so that crap obviously worked.

Regardless of who the GOP runs in 2016, the Dems will be up to there same old tactics. That's what I hated about the Romney campaign; they just stood there and took it. At least Rand is showing that he will point out the hypocrisy of the Dem Party. I like that.

IF Rand is smart, he'll wait two terms before throwing his hat in the ring. He's young enough.

And you don't care either, Decatur, as long as the scumbag happens to be a liberal Democrat.

Must be nice to have vacillating morals.

I agree. We all live pointless lives punctuated only with brief moments of false hope as we wend our path on a dark journey 6 feet under the ground. But until that dark moment when they lock my coffin lid, I'll be heard.

Lots of libertarians on this board say there's no difference between Ds and Rs. If McCain had been elected, we wouldn't have Obamacare.

He'll have to cave on some things, which will be very disappointing. You can't win on conviction. Middle of the road, non committal is where it's at.

Just watch. War on Women will not be part of the Clinton arsenal. You may disagree with him politically...but it is a smart move. Even someone as dim as you must see that....right?

Agree 100%, which is why I was a delegate for Ron Paul the last two elections.
What I learned is that the elite control both parties. They will choose the next President, as they've chosen those before them.
The elite-controlled media will be tasked with convincing us we voted for that person.
Along the way it will create drama, as in the OP, and the sheople will fight amongst themselves and get whipped up into a frenzy leading up to the actual "election" as if they had a say-so in it.

The Fake "war on women" worked. You can bet Billary will approach this issue with caution though.

I think it's brilliant. It's going to force Hillary to answer questions about this in the future.

Wrong. Convincing the elite you can do their bidding better than the other guy is "where it's at."

Unfortunately.

Nobody can legitimately complain about this, because it's not any more outlandish than the phony "war on women" tag the Dems accused Romney and the GOP of waging back in 2012.
