Great place to have a military base. Population of less than 700,000 people.
They may not have many soldiers, but do support the US in Afghanistan and other places.

Russia would invade the Eastern European countries, and run into basically a NATO
You are assuming that the Eastern European countries would not have aligned themselves with Germany and Austria-Hungry for protection against Stalin.
Also, German scientists, like Einstien and Oppenhiemer would have split the atom way before 1944, Von Braun was literally a rocket scientist, and the Germans had jet fighters long before anyone else.

quote:No, I think they would have; and felt the brunt of eventual Stalin aggression. The Germans (and France and the UK) would have met that, and the Eastern Front would be as it was, with the timeline reversed (and never getting into Germany). They'd have stonewalled the Russians before they reached Germany, and the pseudo-NATO forces would eventually push into Russia. Maybe things bog down with the Russian Winter, but then we'd come in for the last bit; and we might be hitting from the Pacific to keep them from retreating too far back into Asia.
