What you experienced there was a bit of racism.

Black people have always been very racist. It's hard to notice from certain perspectives but I have heard from many many progressive black folks that old black men are the most racist people in America.

It's also hard to notice because most racism doesn't really affect anyone, it's just a mental crutch people use to make themselves feel better about their own shitty situation.

I think it's best to try and not take it personally and consider all the stuff the media is trying to put in this guy's head a lot people aren't strong enough to resist this and they need people that are able to, to set a good example.
