Instead of focusing on real human-rights issues, the council has used its time and resources to bully Israel and question Israel's legitimacy as a sovereign state," Rep. Eliot Engel, the ranking Democratic member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, said in a statement Tuesday.

Poorly-worded questions are so VERY difficult to answer. With that being said, I will play-along with the delusion that I am “Leftist.”

Are you asking why “Leftists” insist that Muslims living in the US are entitled to all of the same protections as any other US resident or citizen? Is so, the answer is quite simple. The US Constitution.

If you are asking about a defense of the religion itself, I think most people recognize the shortfalls of this religion, just like any other religion. You will also find that many of those same people will correct bigoted misstatements regarding the tenets of the religion and/or of its founder and/or adherents ... just like any other religion or its adherents.
