Putting all the blame on Trump has a major problem....

Yes Trump fricked up with Iran, he should've handled them the way most others have. Bomb them to prevent them from getting a nuke and walk away. He tried to permanently break them. Problem with that is Europe doesn't want that so they made USA go it alone. However voters going against Trump tonight have a much bigger problem. Surely the media/Europe won't treat the next Repub leader like Trump....oh wait of course they will they'll call him Hitler, Nazi, xenophobic,etc....If they think gas prices/houses/etc...are high now what until another 10+million illegals are let in by the Dems.

Honestly, the best thing for 2028 is Dems trying to get revenge on Trump for the next 18 months. We shouldn't get terribly in the way of that barring meaningful persecution.
Conservatives need to dispassionately move on from Trump the way you might from a long time friend having a mid-life crisis you can't relate to. You just diverge with minimal hard feelings but retaining a lot of the stuff that was there before he went off on his tangents and diversions.

Trump screwed up by starting the Iran war and then allowing the Saudis and other Middle Eastern countries to talk him into wasting month after month negotiating a deal that would have never lasted even if they signed the damn thing. If Trump was going to go to war in Iran he needed to finish it and get it over with and help the people take control and make sure as many regime forces was either caught, dead, or fleeing for their lives. Even if some could have reconstituted later it would probably have been way into next year before they really could have organized to really stir things up. That’s how he screwed up. It had to be finished fast if he was going to do that in an election year because you have to expect some blowback.
