What does fair have to do with global politics or war? If they were too weak to put themselves into a position where we/Ukraine had to negotiate no one would care what their strategic demands and concerns were but since they have pushed Ukraine to the brink even with our help we have to accept some of what they demand or escalate.
Who said anything about fair? You’re exactly right though. Russia is too weak. They can barely take over a part of a country who didn’t even have a full military 5 years ago lol. We’re trying to let Russia off the hook, but they don’t care about that. They just want complete capitulation, which will never happen, unless they escalate things so far, that it would honestly be one of the biggest crimes against humanity. Russia is a paper tiger and they don’t have the cards tbh.

I’ve outlined my logic and why I would do what I proposed not out of approval but from a cold realistic appraisal of the situation and various scenarios available to us.
You haven’t proposed what you would do (or maybe you have). You just keep talking about Russian demands and about how we should just give in to their demands. You’re not willing to talk about demands Russia should give up for peace in this war. It’s because you and everyone knows Russia isn’t serious about peace, and doesn’t even want peace. Everything that’s gone on the past 4 1/2 years is exactly what Russia has wanted, minus the fact that they’ve been getting their shite rocked, and have looked like nothing more than a paper tiger.

Double down without doing a modicum of research. Your comment shows a vast amount of ignorance. You think I was speaking about invasion? Holy shite. You really have no idea the history of what’s happening in Eastern Europe. You’re proud and smug in your ignorance. It’s so sad to see. You choose to remain ignorant because you’re fighting a team game.
Well then tell us all about Eastern European history Mr. Smart Guy.

You should probably do a modicum of research on the history of NATO and Russia’s borders. Opining with hubris from a place of complete ignorance is never a good look.
Should we respect Germany’s and other European countries historical borders?

NATO was formed for the sole purpose of stopping horrific European imperialistic wars that have haunted the world for hundreds of years.
Maybe the sole purpose of keeping Soviet tanks from steamrolling over Western Europe after flash-frying its collective armies.
Where this war imperialism baloney come from?

I would grant them the land they’ve taken, promise never to accept Ukraine into NATO and in return demand immediate peace and demilitarization of the area conquered along with the threat that any further aggression will trigger an immediate acceptance of Ukraine into NATO as a full member with the intent of regaining any lands previously ceded.
How would you achieve a feasible peace deal?

Most people on here refuse to accept that there's a large group of people that sit above even presidents.
Presidents realize this. They tend to marry their children off to the true ruling class. Biden, Trump, Clinton, W Bush all did it. Obama is the holdout. I'm sure Putin realizes it as well so of course he's going to say good things. about them.

You aren’t aware of the assurances given to Russia about NATO? And you openly admit that? While being a smug prick? Interesting strategy.

Several governments, including the US, promised Russia that NATO would not extend east from where they currently were in 1990. A simple google search would have helped you. Instead you choose to opine with hubris from a place of complete ignorance.
Before you accuse me of supporting Russia. I do not. However, Russia’s reaction to NATO expanding east should not be a surprise to anyone familiar with the history.
It’s a surprise to you.

So Russia has an excuse then, to send their military into neighboring countries, and killing hundreds of thousands of people? What Russia is doing is completely justified in your mind, because Eastern European countries peacefully decided they wanted to get away from Moscows sphere of influence, and join a defensive alliance that would protect them from a historically aggressive Kremlin?

That’s quite the leap. I never said any of that. I simply educated you that several countries, including the US, have assurances that what NATO is doing wouldn’t happen. Not sure why you have to extrapolate that to something bigger. Perhaps you’re just embarrassed by your ignorance. You would think you would be used to that by now.

Can you send us a link to these assurances and agreements, that were put into writing?

I am very aware of your inability to do independent research. The written agreement was in 1997. It’s called the 1997 NATO-Russia Founding Act.
The assurances from the US came in 1990 from Secretary of State James Baker who told Gorbachev that NATO's jurisdiction would not shift "one inch eastward" from Germany.

I fail to see where NATO broke any agreements in this treaty. I see lots of broken agreements from Russia though…
Nothing about that 1997 pact has anything in writing about NATO promising to not move one inch further.

Prior to today you weren’t aware of the assurances or the act. Just thank me for the history lesson and stop tripling down on denying that Russia was promised NATO wouldn’t encroach their borders.
Thats my entire point. It doesn’t mean Russia should invade. It means exactly what it says. Russia was promised something and the opposite occurred. Your inability to grasp that very basic point does not change the fact that it occurred.
