As one watches the videos of contractor owned and operated aircraft please realize the stark contrast in competence between teams that modify and maintain aircraft up to 60 years old flying in combat like conditions verses government bureaucrats that fail to maintain the basics of full reservoirs and fire hydrant maintenance.

Just sourcing parts for old aircraft is extremely hard let alone keeping them flying when the fight is on. Flying a heavy commercial aircraft at max gross weight in close proximity to mountains, smoke and swirling winds is extremely dangerous yet they make it look easy. Thank a contractor today!

It's a pity the Democrat party destroyed my old business Blackwater. We were going to pivot the team of thousands and 73 aircraft fleet to private fire fighting service. Might have been useful about now...

Y'all arent going to be satisfied with reality, which is the regulatory environment being the main cause.

You just want to blame someone. Anyone.

LOOTER DRESSED AS FIREMAN ARRESTED IN MALIBU

The organized criminal looters in LA are extremely sophisticated.

Some are dressing as firemen and utility workers to bypass security checkpoints or not get flagged by residents or police.

We're receiving reports of them coordinating over social media networks to target specific locations.

New Episode Out: The Palisades Fire Origin. Investigators Are Looking At A Possible New Years Fire Holdover, Arson, And More.

The ATF has taken over as the lead investigator into the Palisades Fire and has been looking at the fire's origin. The best origin photo I’ve seen shows the fire starting off the Temescal Ridge Trail within the first 20 minutes of ignition.

Investigators are also looking at the potential of a holdover from the Lackman Fire, which started on New Year’s Eve in the same location.

I cover the details of this investigation, one being the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, saying the power to the infrastructure on top of Temescal Ridge has been shut off for 5 years.

I also discuss the cuts the Forest Service is making in Region 5 (California) to critical positions. I had a conversation with a California Forest Supervisor who was concerned these cuts would only make the jobs of firefighters on the ground harder.

Plus, a full update on the fires.

According to Grok

quote:

The Santa Ynez Reservoir has been reported to be empty since various dates according to different sources on X posts, with mentions ranging from September 2022 to February 2024. However, these posts on X may not provide conclusive evidence, as user claims can be false or uncertain. Given this information, it's challenging to pinpoint an exact duration, but it has been under repair since at least September 2022, with completion expected by late 2025

Also from Grok

quote:

The Santa Ynez Reservoir has undergone significant repairs in the last 5 years, primarily focused on its cover:

2022-2025: The reservoir has been under repair for its cover since September 2022, with the work expected to be completed by late 2025. This repair was for a tear in the cover that impacted water quality. The Santa Ynez Reservoir Floating Cover Project was being constructed to comply with United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) water quality regulations, specifically the Stage 2 Disinfectants and Disinfection By-Products Rule (S2DBPR) and the Long Term 2 Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule (LT2ESWTR).

Historical Context: Before this period, there was another major project from 2009 to 2011 where the reservoir was drained for the installation of a floating cover, which also aimed to meet EPA regulations. This indicates a pattern of addressing the cover to comply with water quality standards.

These repairs have left the reservoir empty for substantial periods, impacting its availability during emergencies like wildfires.

I'm sure a lot of people fricked up / things were fricked up. No disagreement from me.

Pretty funny seeing all of our X influencers who were experts on denied healthcare claims then debt ceilings then H1Bs then bollards then Desert Eagles are now experts on wildfires.

Not knocking the posters here just noticed all these tweets are from familiar accounts.

Anyways, here is a 75 minute interview with a dude who spent 6 years embedded with CA hotshot crews giving his take on the matter.

Pretty interesting if you are into podcasts it is worth a listen
