Seems many of you are struggling with this. I have yet to see the government arrest anyone for expressing their opinion

But speaking your opinion can cause you to take a full on arse whipping from a mob and that's where the problem lies.

He is ANTIFA.

Only difference is that he may not choose to be violent.

He shares their views.

Well, like 99% of the issue people have with antifa is that they want to bloody up the scene.

completely agree

but the 1A does stand for the government guaranteeing your free speech rights, and when it refuses to keep the peace and allow the thugs to shut you up,

well that looks to me that they did not back up the guarantee

I've definitely seen a crazed mob attack someone for wearing a Trump hat. Is this the consequences you speak of?

Cite an example. People are condemning ANTIFA for using violence against others and condemning public institutions for refusing to host speakers.

Your post, in light of that context, looks like you're defending ANTIFA. You said you're not. Post an example of what you speak.

Now that you landed on this stupidity, I'll pose a hypothetical to you.

A violent group forms in the south that is so willing to commit violence that no minorities are able to speak at any universities without things turning violent.

At this point, University Presidents at every major university start cancelling any events where minorities are speaking due to "security concerns">

Proper?

Since I know you know the right answer there, I also know you know your position is bull shite. But, you're ANTIFA, so there's that.

Or consequence?
So if I express my opinion and someone hits me with a brick, the person who threw it will be protected because it is a consequence of my opinion.
You drunk? High? Or just someone who thinks that they are almighty and can dole out any consequence they see fit?

Everyone understands this.

Your political party seems to be fraught with individuals who want to make "hate speech" illegal.

Whatever floats your boat though.

I support your right to support such asinine positions.

Not being capable of and/or not having the foresight of how big something would get and not having enough resources available =/= refusing to keep the peace

The persecution complex on here is pretty weird
