Let the hunting of witches crank up in the election year.
The Manhattan district attorney's office on Monday hinted that its subpoena for President Trump's tax returns is part of an investigation into "possibly extensive and protracted criminal conduct at the Trump Organization," including potential fraud allegations detailed in media reports in recent years.
Sounds like the piss dossier part deux.
"In light of these public reports of possibly extensive and protracted criminal conduct at the Trump Organization, there was nothing facially improper (or even particularly unusual) about the Mazars Subpoena, which issued in connection with a complex financial investigation, requesting eight years of records from an accounting firm," prosecutors wrote in a court filing submitted Monday.
I wonder who generated the "reports" this time?

If it's skullduggery peppered with blatant lying and underhanded deceit, expect The Perkins Cole Law Firm and Fusion GPS to be somewhere in the mix.

So that means Barr and Durham may actually have some good news for American patriots who want justice served against the Swamp Dims and never Trumpers.

Yep, looks like Lawfare is inventing another fake scandal just in time for the election.

I'm sure that the DA will hold any subpoenas and not release any grand jury info, or indictments until after November 3rd, RIGHT?

Mueller couldn’t find anything, but there is a great coronal conspiracy out there that Trump runs. oK

If there’s something criminal in the tax returns, what exactly was the Obama IRS doing?
Isn’t it the job of the IRS to catch tax cheats?

And the IRS apparently has no issue with Trump or his organizations but these idiots feel they're going to discover something nefarious after going through his tax records.

They didn't say that there was any criminal activity whatsoever. Just that there could be. Hell, there COULD be lots of things. There also could NOT be lots of things. I'd be on the NOT being anything, were I a betting man.

These people never stop. By any means necessary.

This isn't limited to tax returns. This is about internal audits (different from tax audits). There have been reports for months that Trump Org. committed fraud by making loan applications using different valuations than those in their actual books.
For what it's worth, Trump may have plausible deniability for any personal involvement if such fraud did occur, as this would be fraud by the company, not him personally.

At yet your OP stated this was specifically timed to pop up during an election year. Pick a story and stick with it.
