Touchscreens, conveyor belts: McDonald’s opens first largely automated location
quote:LINK
The first mostly non-human-run McDonald’s is open for business just outside Fort Worth, Texas. At just one location so far, customers can drive to the golden arches and expect to be served a Big Mac or a Happy Meal by a food and beverage conveyor instead of an actual, real-life human being.

Are you so naive to the business world that you think a business is not
Progressives only understand systems, they're oblivious to human behavior.

going to raise it's prices to pay for the increase then hard working citizens end up paying for it due to higher prices. Sink or swim...it should be all on the individual.

Why stop at $20? Why not $50 or $100 an hour??

Actually raising prices is the entire point of the plan my friend. Taxpayers already pay the price plus the subsidy but can't decide to pay the subsidy or not...the IRS don't play that way. You and I can, however, decide to pay the higher prices or not....this is how the free market works.

Which is exactly why your dollar has lost 97% of it's value and poor people can't afford anything.
You want to create an unsustainable system where everything is unaffordable to the poor
Your solutions lead to automation, offshore jobs and unemployment.
You do not understand economic tradeoffs.
So we should subsidize employers to keep them from utilizing technology and prevent them offshoring service jobs that are done face to face in real time and in person? You are OK taking money out of your pocket so the WalMart heirs can pretend to be donating THEIR money to charity while you help pay for their employees housing and fuel and medical care? You are a nicer person than me..here's an idea...give the subsidy directly to the employee and tell the employer to sink or swim with offshoring and technology. It is amazing to me how many so called conservative minded individuals are OK with corporate welfare but all in on keeping wages low so they can buy a happy meal for the kids and damn the consequences.

No one.
Stop helping them. They'll die or learn a trade.
Or resort to crime. Most Americans ain't going to let them die without some effort to help. If they learn a trade they ain't going to be making their nut without some serious aid from taxpayer and will never earn a living without some money from the government funding the work they ply. There ain't no free lunches my friend...

If you're lazy, bad attitude doing drugs you should pay for it by being homeless. The government shouldn't step in to force anyone to help you when it's your fault.
Again, you will get no argument from me. We are talking about people who are employed though...they are gonna make their nut one way or another, it is far better that they do so through labor than the dole or crime. We are also going to provide some level of sustenance to the ones who simply won't work because we are civilized. Again, there are ample examples of society where this is not done and the wealth and prosperity of the middle class is non existent because of the number of people in abject poverty. The wealthy do exist because there aint a better situation for wealthy people than a bunch of poor people and little or no middle class...study any monarchy for proof of this. Their ain't no free lunch...

Are you trolling or really that naive to how businesses work. I also want to throat punch, not that I'm threatening to, you for your ideas. Why the hell should I pay more so some lazy drug addled dumbarse gets more money for picking to have a minimum wage job.

I should not have to pay for your poor life choices. You want to make more money then get a better job. Giving across the board raises means product prices rise and your buying power doesn't change. If you can't understand then it's best you just leave the thread.

You are one stupid motherfricker.
If they don't want to better themselves then they can get roommates similar to themselves and live like sardines. Let four of them split the cost of a two bedroom apartment and they can ride bicycles to McDonalds.
Nobody deserves to be able to support themselves fully without effort or sacrifice.
Yes, they can do all of these things, and do. And middle class and wealthy people do all manner of things to make it illegal and are successful every time. They push so far out of town that riding a bike is not a possibility and then pay taxes for a public transportation system so the corner starbucks can have a barista. Try renting an apartment in a major metro area with 4 people on the lease without substantial income and credit worthiness. Good luck even finding a place where such a thing is allowed by local law. Ask yourself if you'd like to have such a complex in your neighborhood. Exactly. Sounds good and makes us feel better to sound off about the frustration but we keep doing the same thing and expecting different results and resort to memories of a bygone era and wishful thinking. If not doing that is the definition of a stupid motherfricker put my picture in the Websters and I'll proudly be the face of that movement.

So you agree low wage employers need no assistance from the government on their behalf. They enjoy an assload of it currently.

SO the status quo of low wages and social welfare programs are working out so well you would only change them slightly to "let them die". There is a term for doing the same shite over and over and expecting a different outcome while fondly remembering an era which never existed. I think we all know the term, no need for me to use it here....

It’ll be $25 in 3-4 years, $30 in 5-7 and $35 in 10 years.
It’ll never be enough.
