re: Prior to Roe v Wade being overturned I had no idea that abortions were that common.

Really a matter of perspective, isn't it?
This stat seems inflated bur it doesn't surprise me and even if remotely close, it's no wonder we are getting killed in elections over the abortion issue. I believe the court made the correct decision as the issue should be decided by Congress or left to the states.....but you overturn 50 years of presence on women's reproductive rights they are going to be pissed.
Abortion is a losing issue no matter whet the boomers here think

Women already have ALL the “reproductive rights”. Men have virtually none. Why should we be lectured to by the matriarchy?

Remember when the slogan was safe, legal and rare?
The whole rare thing went out the window.

They also don’t really GAF about “black lives”… at least the ones that are ripped out of a mother’s womb or scraped off of bullet riddled, urban streets.

No.
And they aren’t really for diversity, equity or inclusion.
Black lesbians with Hispanic surnames who don’t subscribe to tranny politics are “white supremacists.”
It’s the upside down world.

Some people are concerned with what’s right over and above winning political power.
If you just win political power but lose the culture war, what are you exercising power over? A wasteland.

"Male" abortion supporters are guys who never got laid and worship women.

It really is.
One side is vapid, materialistic and makes poor choices. You support them.

This cannot be said enough. They are the ultimate “simp”.

Exactly.
Theyre softer than women.

To be perfectly honest with you I really don't give a shite about abortion. It's doesn't even register on the top twenty of things I care about because it doesn't affect my life. I don't like it but there are far more things that are important to me and how politics directly affect me. Abortion isn't even on the radar screen. If you want to take a principled stand based upon your beliefs then OK.....but abortion is a losing issue politically and the majority of the country, particularly women, aren't with you on it....even if the court made the entirely correct decision. 50 years of precedence was overturned so people are pissed about it and the Democrats will continue to use it. You are tilting at windmills if you keep pressing the matter.
Just my view on it personally and don't expect you to agree

I find it difficult to believe, but there were numerous sources.
So either it's accurate, or it's a conspiracy and everyone is in on it.
It's a mix.
They take the total number of abortions and divide by the number of women.
This excludes the reality that there are many serial killer moms out there who have killed more than one of their own children.

It’s not so much that they’re common as it is telling a woman what she must do with her body.
The fetus being torn apart limb by limb is most certainly not "her body".
Unless you're going to argue women routinely trip over themselves so they can have their own limbs sawed off in different, non pregnant, circumstances.

These Simps ... will not answer my questions.
The REASON to come here is to have a civil discussion of competing views. Maybe we can manage that, if the peanut gallery can control itself.

What are your questions, Roger?
Ah, found a simp.
If its their body their choice, no men should be on the hook for a baby, correct? forever.
Men have no responsibility or control over the baby. No financial responsibility.

quote:On its face, that is a reasonable question, and I assume that you are asking in the context of child support because that is where the question USUALLY arises. It is a question that I explored in depth when we addressed "child support" in my family law class in law school.
If its their body their choice, no men should be on the hook for a baby, correct?
When boiled down to its basics, the current regimen gives each of the two parties "control" up until the point at which he or she CAN have control. For the man, that is the point of ejaculation. If he wants to "control" paternity, that is the last point at which he physically can do so.
For the woman, the last point at which she can exercise physical control is somewhat later.
Is that the perfect system? No. I don't think that there IS a "perfect" solution to the issue.
