Should this line be added to the president's Oath?

“I will support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

This line have been a part of the Oath for members of Congress, why not the president?

Currently, presidents are only obligated to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution to the best of their ability. That's not very reassuring when someone as stupid as Joe Biden becomes POTUS.

quote:

Article II, Section 1, Clause 8:

Before he enter on the Execution of his Office, he shall take the following Oath or Affirmation:–I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

The man is literally a paid agent of the Chinese government. It doesn’t matter what oath he took, he is in violation of it.

Only if you ignore the phrase before it.

quote:

faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States

His role as Commander in Chief, etc. is included here. No need to add unnecessary words.
