Packing the house -- at something resembling a small school gym.

He said people who are proud of this country kneel to pray and stand for the pledge.

The Governor of Texas wants 10 billion for a dam? LOL

There's a plan to put a large dam (or two) on either end of Galveston Island. It's called the Ike Dike and it's similar to what the Dutch use to protect their country.

It is expensive but it would protect the many refineries in the Greater Houston area.

Meanwhile in Louisiana, we can't get the Rigolets Surge Barrier built, which would cost 1/5 the price of this Texas project, and protect every Louisiana community and refinery from the Mississippi line, all the way around Lake Pontchartrain and half way up to Baton Rouge. Hurricanes would become wind events for metro New Orleans with practically no threat from flooding.

I wish we were as ambitious as TX. We have squandered so many opportunities.
