Tell us, great wizard, what would be the use of such a thing?

A train/vehicle link to the East? What benefit would it have?

Cmon dude/they/them/whatever.

Youre going to learn something new today. The Arctic is the next resource frontier. We have been working on this for decades.

Perhaps a resident geologist can answer this…..but doesn’t a 70 mile underground tunnel beneath the ocean sound like a bad idea considering how seismacally active that region is?

Yes, with a probable rail link too.

Its massive and needed for the future.

2hr 17 minute long vid. Right off the bat she crushes Comey by stating facts.. if you're accused of doing something that you didn't do, deny it. Don't talk about what a good person you are and how anyone who says you did something illegal must be a bad person. Just DENY IT! Comey doesn't.

Seriously, what use would we have with a tunnel from off the coast of Alaska to the outer coast of Siberia? Of all the things to spend infrastructure money on, why that?
If the cackle laugh nimwitted Kamala or Biden came up with this idea (they never would it goes against their divisive controlled geo-political globalization) you would mindlessly cheerlead the concept.

Why? Why aren't ships sufficient? The cost & engineering alone dwarfs anything man has done save for possibly the Great Pyramids, 5+ thousands yrs ago.

Jesus christ.

What happens to the Bering Sea in winter?

The Arctic Ocean?

No, you are making stuff up again. This is a silly idea. If there was such a need for commerce between the Aleutian Islands and Siberia there would already be deep water shipping ports there. Why isn’t there a huge shipping presence between those points already?

As long as its not crossing major fault lines you can engineer around it.

Soon to be solved by global warming. Problem solved!

Seriously, you're ignoring the cost, the engineering required, the isolation of the project and toss in what it'll do for the environment.

I'm not ignoring anything. Elon Musk is behind it, you wanna argue with him?

This has been a project on the table for decades, and now you people are just hearing about it?

Russia passed a bill upporting the funding part if it years ago.. We just didnt follow through with our part.

How many years would it take to dig tunnels that long? 10?

Its truly mind bogglng that this has been a thing for a couple of decades and no one here apparently is familiar with it.

Basic history of the tunnel.

It’s been tossed around for years as a sort of Russian pipe dream to promote the transport and sale of Russian minerals and fuel to the American market. I guess if we want to buy Russian oil and gas now, rather than promoting American production, then maybe we should look into it.

It's only because of Elon that such a task could be taken seriously. But aside from the technical issues there'll be massive pushback from butthurt Lefties who see this as some Trump & Elon campaign pay back or some such. Anything to disrupt the project, and from every angle imaginable.

What do you mean 'you people'? LOL. But yes, I'm just now hearing about it. Probably because such a feat was too absurd to accept, for a host of reasons. Politically, financially, logistically, as well as engineering...

And why would you imagine that would be the case? If Russia wanted to jump off a bridge, are we supposed to do it too?

Not saying it wouldn't be cool, assuming the maintenance and construction didn't get out of hand. (it will) or that I'd like to see Elon wow the world once again with something amazing. It's just not needed. Not now, anyway. And not when we're pushing 40 trillion dollars in debt.

Go to Mars. Or at least back to the moon. Acquire Greenland. Lotta stuff to do before we burrow under the Arctic waters to join with a nation currently at war with its neighbor.

Its being reconsidered because again, for you....

THE ARCTIC IS THE NEXT RESOURCE FRONTIER.

This is about the future. Foreign nations are scrambling to lock up arctic resources, and we are far behind all of them.

Its called the modern "Cold Rush."
