I wonder if USC and Washington were playing in the Rose Bowl for the national championship if Trump would have showed up. I also wonder if Trump gave a single thought of a attending a southern college football game in the 70 years before he became president.
I don’t hate Trump and may even hold my nose and vote for him in November. I do find him embarrassing, though, and think a lot of the attacks he and supporters complain about are at least partially inspired by his schoolyard insults and name calling.
That said, anyone who thinks Trump showed up for any reason other than to be sucked off on national TV by the Superdome crowd is naive.

Hey idiot, there were absolutely NO POOR WHITE PEOPLE attending a college championship game, never has been. Anyone wealthy enough to afford a ticket to that game is doing just fine financially

HB, I don’t know you, but I love you.
My heart isn’t consumed with hatred or angst. That’s the difference between conservatives and liberals. Conservatives want good things for everyone. Liberals want division.
I met some very nice people tonight from Vacherie... who came to New Orleans to party and celebrate. They went downtown, the crowd got too crazy, and they Ubered over to my neighborhood in Algiers Point.
The father and son told me how proud they were of our President. I am too. I told them of how horrible trade deals had sold my people out. Furniture, textiles, manufacturing.
We drank a lot of beer together, we bought a lot of beers for each other, we watched LSU win, and we had a dang good time. Hardworking, proud, no-kneeling Americans. People who are unabashedly proud of their roots. People who have worked their tails off. People who are grateful and appreciative, and who aren’t about to sit back and give it all away.
We lost family members for this. So our butts could watch a great game. On a Monday night. They don’t do this anywhere else.
If Obama, Clinton, Carter, Johnson, Kennedy, or whoever were President, I’d cheer them for coming here. I think it’s always an honor and a privilege.

He’s a troll and a liar. Obviously no poors were at that game and we ended up sitting just above the suites. I didn’t hear any jeers at all the entire time Trump was on the field. In fact, came to PT just to see if there was a thread on how positively he was received last night.
