Told my daughter that at her graduation from college and she is 31 now. She didn't believe me then and surely wouldn't now that it is 9 years later. Tis true however. The old boys would be way up in their eighties now. Ole John and his son simply were still throwing live fire in their 70's or 80's and had some younger catchers.

I'd like to check the DNA of old Lyon Tyler and that son he allegedly sired at 75. He and Abraham (Isaac and Ishmael's daddy) obviously were doing something right!

I met Harrison Tyler at the International Water Conference in Pittsburgh about 25 years ago.

This story was pretty amazing back then..

"I beg your pardon, gentlemen; I am very glad to have in my Cabinet such able statesmen as you have proved yourselves to be. And I shall be pleased to avail myself of your counsel and advice. But I can never consent to being dictated to as to what I shall or shall not do. I, as president, shall be responsible for my administration. I hope to have your hearty co-operation in carrying out its measures. So long as you see fit to do this, I shall be glad to have you with me. When you think otherwise, your resignations will be accepted" ~ President John Tyler

How old was the chick that the 75 year old knocked up? I can't find anything online.....which doesn't sound good for the family history.

That blows my mind. I’m damn near 50 and my grandads were born in 1904 and 1914.

Similar on my moms side of the family- my great Granddad was born in 1850. Fathered my grandmother when he was 72 (2nd wife in her 40s). Had another daughter 2 years later haha, 14 kids in total.

The only way this works is a few sequential generations of old dudes knocking up youngish girls.

One generation of an old dude doing it wouldn’t work. It has to be at least a couple.

Not sure what you mean. Great granddad born in 1850. Grandma born in 22. Mom born in 56. I was born in 88.
Just 1 generation of one old guy knocking up his mid 40s wife.
I was just saying its similar though not an identical situation to John Tyler’s family.

I'm 60. Paternal grandparents were born in 1872 GF and 1890 GM. Maternal grandparents were born in 1884 GM and 1886 GF. My father's youngest sibling was born in 1939 when my GF was 67!

I am close to that- I am 62, my dad's parents were born in 1878 & 1881. My other grandma was also born in 1881, not sure of my grandad, I just know he died in the 40's.
