When I lived in Beaverton, there weren't any Walmarts near me, but mainly because Fred Meyer was firmly entrenched there and the local people loved Fred Meyer, but didn't care for Walmart - for all the usual reasons.
It was a difficult market to break into for Walmart because people in Portland preferred Fred Meyer, which is owned by Kroger.
