This. Obama is the classic case of the Peter Principle in the highest office. Many said he was way over his head and they were correct.

Obama has done more to free Americans from job lock than any other President, and yet here on the PT board, all you guys want to just whine about it.

Wow you folks are dense. It was a frigging press conference - the press doesn't applaud. Do they applaud at the White House? No. He wasn't speaking to a Dutch Rotary Club.

The joke is on you.

I would figure this, though I'm not sure why anyone was clapping at all.

And more buzzkillington on my part, but Europeans not clapping for a US President could be a good thing. Obviously not the case here, but I'd imagine that they wouldn't much care for a Rand Paul/Ted Cruz type. Maybe not even a Ron Paul type.

Sounds right, but it looked like he was 'asking' for applause = raised his arms?

He sure sounded bored anyway/

But, but, but if we elect Obama the world will love us again. Remember? The room must have been full of those Hitler, Pol Pot, Fred Phelps loving conservative, tea party racists. If it was average people they would have loved him.

Just think how he'd look by now if the Press really did their jobs.

The video captures the last minute or so. They took questions for 40 minutes. No doubt Obama looks worn down and haggard. It comes with the territory.

This. He was clearly soliciting applause and what he got was a few golf claps.

I wouldn't say that there was a need for applause there. But, it sure did seem as if the room wasn't buying his line and hell, it looked like he knew that to be the case.

I mean cmon. What he was saying almost had to make you laugh inside.

I think the 'silver lining' here, Scoop, is that Obama has done to the Progressives what Bush did to the Neo-Cons....exposed the flaws of their ideology by employing it. Both are idealist ideological premises; and it's probably worth the pain to know that.

We'll get over the hump...and it's likely that you kid will prosper as never before...assuming your kid makes the right choices.

He would look a ton better because he would either still be the Junior Senator from Illinois or back on the block in Chicago "organizing the community".

If the press did their job he would never have been elected in the first place.

His body language said a lot. His posture was poor and he just did his politician waive and walked out frustrated.

From the mid terms forward, we will see a lot of this during the last two years of his administration.
