I don't know. I think Epstein and 'legal immigration' have done some damage. I don't think it's fatal, but it's definitely plausible.

Not well. That reminds me to catch up on Mark Halperin today.
He's off this week and maybe next just a FYI

I just laugh at Larry Sabato. That idiot has never gotten anything right and his arrogance is hilarious.

Sabato is/was smart, that's the thing. Just like Carville was. Or Rove was.
But they're guys trying to live in a new world they don't have any expertise in. The game passed them by, and the combination of becoming irrelevant relics and Trump has made them bitter, in the case of Carville and Sabato.
As for Trump's numbers, I'm sure it's a mix. Polling will always undervalue Trump it appears. But people are fickle, and many people probably see Trump as all over the place.
I think Baris is probably right on this, although he's proven himself to be a rather ridiculous human being as well so he's not entirely dissimilar from the biased people he's talking about.

He doesn’t know.. it’s what he hears from the Obama, Clinton people like John Bolton

Doesn't matter what the fake numbers say. The question is what or who is the alternative. There is no one in the same stratosphere as Trump. Therefore this discussion is mind-numbingly dumb.

I think it matters for the midterm for that reason. It's more abstract, you can vote on disliking Trump's trajectory without voting for a Harris or Newsome. I don't get it either, but it's more plausible and tracks with historical norms for midterms.
But I still suspect the discontent is conflated.
