We're headed for a late 60's, early 70's spiritual awakening. The last one shook organized religion up quite a bit, I suppose this one will as well.

Christians are kinda tasked with spreading the gospel in hopes that more souls will receive everlasting life.
Exactly. Your religion requires you to annoy other people with your beliefs.
That's why it's funny when people say things like that.

We agree.
Like I said, I'm not a good Christian.

he Catholic church was in the business of selling bogus indulgences for a very very long time. The inquisitions were also not a high point.
This thread is about recent trends, not what happened hundreds of years ago.

It doesn't. It's supposed to attract people because of your own life, but like most of the bible, religion perverts it.

"We" meant him and I.
I wish I was a better Christian.

I was going to edit my post to say that nobody is a "good" Christian, myself included, but we should all strive to do better.
Realized that my post sounded kinda harsh. Not intended to.

Yes it does, and he agreed. Maybe your religion doesn't require that.

That's your interpretation of it.

Keener generally provides unconvincing (and intellectually dishonest) arguments such as equating the resurrection of Lazarus described in the Bible and a woman's symptoms of lupus resolving because she prayed.

Like I said, freshman answer. One of the great things about you is you have no problem holding forth to reveal exactly how simple you are.

Read your Bible and the writings of the early church fathers. It is clear both what the scriptures claim and what original Christians believed.

Like I said, you can pitch a fit all you'd like. The actions of the religious prove me right.

The SBC is remarkably shallow in its theology and philosophical musings.
Uh.. seriously?
Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one goes to the Father except through him.
That's their theology. How is that possibly considered shallow?
