Munchie, don’t throw me personally into that mix. I have no “people.” I have zero predetermined political loyalties to either major party in this country, have been a registered independent since I first registered, and do not select who i choose to vote for along party lines. Overall, I sit centrist, more fiscally conservative yet more socially liberal. The day i lose my humanity and respect for everyone around me whether different than me or not, or the day I stop learning in life because I’m unwilling to keep an open mind instead of jumping to foregone conclusions out of hate or fear of the unknown, hope my time’s done. Oh i know, i know, on this board I’ll get more bashing and y’all will call it virtue signaling. Frankly, i don’t care. Interesting thing about consuming hate/anger...it only serves to corrode the vessel that contains it. Another commenter just made my point exactly when he said he wished the pacific and northeast would just disappear . They feel the same about us. They consider the whole lot of us a bunch of uneducated liabilities.

There will always be freedom-loving traditional Patriots on this land that we call "America", but, this political entity called "The United States of America" may not be here forever.

So much for not shooting the messenger I see.GD but y’all are are predictable lot, that’s for damn sure. If you don’t recognize that this is what other regions think of the south, then insanity, brainwashing, and foolishness ..,,

Nah, cruel and way too easy. Carry on.

So in a roundabout way you made my point exactly. Those states feel the same about the south!

Good. They should. We’ve always been separate countries with separate identities and separate peoples. Going back to the English Civil War the same ethnic groups have fought three bloody civil wars against each other. Today, the ethnic lines are less clear, but the philosophies and ideologies of those original ethnicities remain dominant within their respected geographic and sectional homelands of the United States. Everyone should acknowledge the truth and go our separate ways as peacefully as we can and not repeat the mistakes of the past.

Well bitch, maybe we don't give a shite what they think about the south.

Have you ever thought of that?

The Romans in 400 AD used to refer to damn near anybody outside of Rome as "barbarians". How's the Empire doing lately?

What is somebody outside the south going to do to me for not giving a shite what they think?

Interesting that more democrats in the west coast/northeast want to secede.

They could do that and save the rest of us some headaches. I'm down.

not ethnic. but relio-cultural.

see the anti catholic politics in the 1800s usa heartland. even vs kennedy

the migrations to north American regions did form the basis of cultural factions that persist.

I’m guessing it is a mix of people wanting Azatlan and the Seattle Free Zone idiots.

So I am fine with them leaving the country. Anything of worth in those areas will migrate elsewhere.

No, ethnic, by the standards used throughout human history up to about 50 years ago before all Europeans were monolithically referred to as “white”.

Valid point, well made. And thank you for the rational, productive discussion vs the rabid knee jerk reactionary emotionalism that seems to consume this place for the most part. Big time appreciated.

Actually they don’t. They despise what it has BECOME since Trump, the tea party, and the far right has gone over the edge in losing their minds. That is what they despise. And the rationale behind being for secession... They don’t want ( y’all aren’t going to like this... don’t shoot the messenger) to be any part of what they consider to be a lesser educated, more radicalized, heavily religious, ultra conservative faction that IS the vast majority of the south.

I agree, the Recucklicans and never Trumpers need to find a new home with the Dim Marxist party.

Same with me, but I am an Alabamian and a Southerner. Nothing else matters.

You people have an obsession on the alters for real. Munch is highly critical of me. But we shared a chuckle the other day when he said “mother is here i see.” Then he called me granny. Hence the “munchie” . But you just go right ahead believing whatever half baked idea you’d like.
