who else do they have really?
In February 2005 where would you have put Ovama's chances of being the next president?

In February 2013, where would you have put Trump's?

The race is a long way off. No telling what happens in the meantime.

If the left is smart they will run another black president in 2020. It's literally fool proof. (See 2008-2012)

If McConnell is smart he will give Warren the biggest stage possible the next four years. He started off by censoring her in the Senate, which is a good start if his end goal is for her to be the nominee.

I think one of Hickenlooper or Bullock jumps in to pitch themselves as the safe white guy. (Obviously this will be couched as "able to reach Trump voters" or something like that.)

Well if the problem is that he speaks Spanish but sounds like a gringo that takes years and years, especially if you don't have an ear for accents.

There's no way they nominate Elizabeth Warren. They can't be this fricking insane.

things may change in 3 years but Tim Ryan just tried that and was pushed aside to go even more progressive

a random name that i keep seeing floated on progressive FB groups is that kennedy chick. i forget her first name and i don't think she's in an elected position currently but somehow they think she's the key to victory

There's not a chance in hell the Dems nominate Webb or anyone like him. They are on a hard turn to the left and there's no coming back from that.

If Trump's first term is the disaster it could be shaping up to be, 2020 is going to be wild. I could see him either not running or facing a serious challenge from within the party.

2020 could also be a breakout year for anther party or an independent with the right candidate. There's a large percentage of Americans that are completely fed up with both parties, and it's growing by the day now.

Im sure these people made up their minds to give him a full and unbiased chance beforehand.

I heard/read repeatedly that he did more in 3 weeks than any other president has done in 4 years. Why do people need to exercise patience to judge if his work is acceptable, if he cant exercise patience before he ham-handedly rolls out another policy?

Please let them put her up. He will completely destroy her w/ her "Native American" claim alone. He would change his facial color from orange to red and claim he has more Native American heritage than she does. The tweets would be unreal.

I feel like it will be Booker and Warren in 2020. They have definitely done the most posturing thus far to position themselves for a run. Warren will beat Booker in the primary, blacks won't turn out for her in the general and it's 2016 all over again. The difference is that Elizabeth Warren will alienate way more people than Hillary did.

i think that he's completely lacking in basic fluency but i'm not a fly on the wall. hell it wouldn't shock me if the DEMs told him to learn it and his inability is why his star lost a lot of its luster (b/c they stopped promoting him)

if they get slaughtered in 2018, they may shift back

if the GOP has the house, senate (with 60) and the presidency, the DEMs will be forced to reevaluate themselves

If Pocahontas keeps going at the same pace she's going now, she won't be alive in 2020

Their actual positions don't matter at all. You're not being cynical enough about voters. Why do you think Bernie beat Hillary by 20 points in West Virginia?

That's why they need Pocahontas to save them. She can help them find their path in the woods.

Good lord. She doesn't have near the pull as Hillary did - financially, people, troops on the ground, etc. Her "passionate" speeches are like bedtime stories.

If that happens because of Trump, I don't see that as a bad thing thing, it's a service he would be providing. I didn't vote for him (or HRC) but if he does that I'll give him credit.
