Why did you sell and lock in a loss?
Heavily invested in Mrna technology and cologne to cover the smell of weed.

But these experts argued that there are compelling reasons many governments are not acting fast or in unison — not the least of which is that the world’s countries are not good at collective action, and many believe they have a better shot at accomplishing more, for themselves at least, if they avoid escalating the fight with Trump.

Gordon. For the long term good of our nation, I need you to cut back on non-essential consumer goods and services. Teach your children and grandchildren how to live a great life without the pantry full of snacks and sodas, going out to eat all the time, etc. Show them what family time once was before all the consumer distractions. I know that you can do it. Pull back on the garbage spending Gordon. Help us Gordon.

Lost about 50k this week. Consumer confidence is shot and nothing positive has come from any of it yet. A little too early for a victory lap, don't you think?

And that with these policies basically not in effect yet. It’s a little early to react this way, don’t you think?

"But what if the infliction of pain comes from a coalition of countries — governments banding together to strategically hit the U.S. economy? Would that make Trump think twice?

ITS A NICE THEORY, but not very realistic"

These people literally want "infliction of pain" on the US because OMB. We don't hate them enough

speculation isn't real until you sell then how come stock can be used as collateral?

There’s a reason a securities backed loan requires double the value of securities collateral to the loan amount.

Speculative but my portfolio is down with no semblance of reaching the previous levels soon. Sorry you're poor. Bullying retirees must be fun for you though.

Casting shame and requesting pity in the same thought. Impressive.

You didn’t lose anything unless you were stupid and sold - this is a process and a necessary one to save us from going bankrupt

And I really don’t care if boomers that got us into this mess lose everything. They were gifted with inheritances when they were in their 40s because all their parents smoked and died in their 60s. But now they are living longer and spending GenX inheritances on extravagance -
So screw them and their selfishness

I suppose that those that didn't plan well are in tough shape but they would be in tough shape regardless. This boomer is fine as frog's hair and riding the big wave that this admin is going to create. I'm betting on it.

Crying babies of the PT: we don’t have any plant baws to work in factories!

Also from the crying babies: shut up plant baw, the smart people are talking you are too poor to talk to me

Also from the crying babies: but seriously my 401k account is down and I’m on a fixed income, why has Trump done this to me.

Only way to lose is if you sold.

Think of stocks like the value of a house. One day it could be worth 250, 300, or 500k. You will not know exactly until it sells and you have the money in your hands or the mortgage company.

Stocks are pretty much the same. One day a share goes 50, the next day it could go up to 60 and the go back down to 40. You only get paid when it sells or if the company goes bankrupt you have nothing but a piece of paper or an electronic number entitling you to on minuscule fraction of a company.

Correct. A lot of people want anything tied to Trump to fail to justify their irrational rage. Then refuse to give any credit when things go right, instead latching on to the next topic to be angry about. I don't know how people live like that.
