Probably because it came out of nowhere and to offer context to their fans.
Just because something is in bad taste doesn’t give rise to a legal cause of action.
And again, I’m curious to see if your opinion changes if/when the “other information” is revealed.

Given recent situations in college football one would have to know this type of thing on any level carries a lot of weight and eventually quite a bit of vitriol. You can't say Arizona officials are not aware of what happened at Baylor, and to print out this letter including Rich Rod's name and alongside that name to discuss cultural issues in the exact area of the University Rich Rod was prominently featured, just screams that they were intentionally seeking to create turmoil around Rich Rod and his ability to receive future employment because they couldn't get him on substantiated claims.

Two days later and it's still crickets. Rich appently knows he's guilty and i believe he'll make a public apology, today or tommorow.
