If you are worried about your job why are you voting for the clown that wants to stop drilling and hurt our industry?
I’d follow up and also ask: If you are such a concerned lib, why are you ok with making money in oil and gas?
So many of these types claim a position to feel good about themselves, but when it comes to getting paid have zero conviction.
And hey...that’s fine with me, go make money off fossil fuels! I love oil and gas and burning them both! But all you supposed libs that work in the biz please spare me the insufferable sanctimony. You look and sound like hypocritical idiots.

Many people separate their occupation from their politics.
I'll give an example: I work in higher education administration, which is an occupation that leans quite liberal - but I still vote conservative anyway. Granted, it is an online school, so it might not benefit from liberal policies the way traditional schools like Yale or Harvard would, but I still vote for reasons completely unrelated to my job.

What many fail to understand about Progressives is that they are more than willing to cut off their nose to spite their face if they think it hurts their enemies (you).
Once you understand this, situations like this one make more sense.

I don't think it's this, so much as it is that they often don't understand that doing X leads to Y.
I have a conservative friend who tells of how her daughter, and other liberals in the San Francisco era, vote for stifling liberal regulations and restrictions, yet immediately complain in bewilderment and confusion when some of their favorite restaurants close and pack up - not realizing that those restaurants are leaving because of the crippling liberal regulations.
They don't draw a connection between the two dots.

I play golf with an engineer about 4 or 5 times a year. He's a very bright guy. When talk comes to politics in our group he's the only Dem. so he's cautious. But when I got him in the car alone for a longer trip to the course I discovered the problem.
He gets all of his political information from network TV evening news. That's it.
