Peaceful protestors? I have no issue with it...

Rioters and looters, absolutely not...

If there is no threat to respond to, no problem.

If there is a threat, big problem.

I think building better relationships between police and many of these communities and with people of color is something that needs to come out of this. We need empathy and we need understanding more than ever. I think it is a step towards reform and building better police departments.

Let’s not forget that police are supposed to protect and serve. They work for the community not against it. The bias and prejudice that exists in our criminal justice system is a problem. The perception that police aren’t there to help in many cases is a problem.

Deescalation isn’t desirable.

It says your no longer in control, the rule of law no longer applies, and the state monopoly on violence no longer exists.

When protesters can break the security forces like that, governments fall.

Disagree.

It shows you understand the “why” and try to deescalate the tension.

The police can push the force, but if you can end with out Force, all for it.

Don’t confuse understanding or kindness for weakness.

It is for the ones kneeling in uniformity with officers.

The ones causing anarchy...they deserve force.

There’s a difference.

I'm not against it at all, if they are doing it to acknowledge that a bad apple in their ranks unjustly killed a man. I think it will help de-escalate things. There are bad apples in the thin blue line. Just a fact. They need to be removed.

Also, doing this can help separate the legitimate protesters from the Antifa types who are leveraging the anger to promote chaos and break down our system.

Stupid for them to show weakness like that as it will just embolden the filth.

First, not all protesters are “filth”.

The ones causing anarchy are filth!

The peaceful protesters are kneeling in uniformity and helping deescalate the situation.

Don’t confuse understanding/kindness for weakness.

There’s a huge difference between the anarchist and Peaceful protesters. Let’s don’t be intellectually dishonest

It only encourages, enables, legitimizes and emboldens them.

In uniform? Absolutely not. On their time and in regular close? They are stupid considering the mobs opinion of cops but within their right to do so.

encourages, enables, legitimizes and emboldens them to exercise their first amendment rights? I’m not talking about the anarchist burning and destroying everything. Let’s be clear

And you’re part of the overall problem.

This is a power struggle, and they’re saying, you do not govern us.

Understanding and kindness will only lead to more carnage.

Everytime you give the protestors a concession, they will ask for more.

This is how governments collapse.

You need to use overwhelming force to restore order.

If understanding has a place, it comes after that.

It depends on if they were rioters or not. If they were peaceful protesters, then why the frick would anyone have a problem with it? But people do. It’s just the times we’re in.

Community policing and if they don't have riots results speak from themselves

I don't expect it or require it
