So…your argument is that the Black community have to stop using the N word….so…one race is telling another race what they can or can’t say? Is that racist too??

It is not racist if everyone is restricted from doing something because race is not a determining factor.

It is racist if we let some people do something based on race and not others based on their race. How is this even debatable?

There is a Thomas Sowell quote appropriate for this conversation:

Is he wrong?

Why do you keep ignoring the other half of the discussion, where a black man used the word to belittle another black man?

Because i don’t believe that the historical context is transferable

Oi. Dummkopf.

How does your weird arse brain conjugate mixed people's ability to say the word or not?

This should be hilarious.

That’s a good point-

I guess who that mixed person identifies as determines that ….for Obama - he’d be offended - for my former BIL- he would laugh

Dumb response. Stupid as frick.

You can't sit up here and tell me the "black community" [sic] is all hurt and offended by a word from a white person, then turn around and give me this "what do they identify as?" routine.

Doesn't wash.

Try again.

Without your interjection. - it was a bunch of people arguing in theory of what Black community can or shouldn’t say and what white community can or shouldn’t say …..no truly objective argument being made because it’s subjective

You came in with a lived experience and…well, the Black community had a voice and not a theory - that’s why lived experience triumphed

Same argument scenario plays in alternate universe …bunch of people arguing in theory of Black community and the liberal TBird pops in… bam, lived experience wins that debate

The true sound argument of Black community theory happens with conservative TBird argues the significance of the N word with liberal TBird….that’s when lived experience buckles to sound argument

I came in with sound arguments. Lived experience didn't change any of the points I made.

You decided to lend my arguments more credence because of my skin color (after it was revealed to not be white, as you assumed).

Also, I don't speak for the "black community." Another poor assumption on your part.

There is no conservative Tbird or liberal Tbird. There's just Tbird, making sound arguments issue by issue. Furthermore, this isn't even about conservative vs. liberal. This is about logic or lack thereof. Your positions were shown to be illogical, and you chose to lean on immutable characteristics ("identity politics") as the mitigating factor.

You revealed the flaw in your own thought process. That's why you're awful at debate.

Oh, ok, so blacks can racially oppress other blacks and its ok because historically speaking it was whites that did it.

That makes perfect sense

Also, does it really need to be "transferred"?

With all due respect- you asked a compelling question about mixed race -

My theory is that historical context isn’t transferred so it’s contextually different when a Black person uses it as opposed to a white person.

What does happen in a mixed race scenario…is that historical context transferrable? …great question - i answered that question as best i knew how- it’s identification

My wife is NA- she isn’t fully NA - her mom is southern white and Middle Eastern but her dad is from a tribe in South La ….my identifies as NA …takes on the cause of NA’s etc ….she doesn’t get offended by sports names and all but doesn’t like colonialism
