DeSantis won big because all the conservatives fleeing other shithole states moved to Florida. It’s not because he’s that much more likable than Trump.

Some form of populist pushback is the absolute best outcome we can expect in this wholly corrupted political environment. Now, I’ve largely stayed neutral in this festering Trump-DeSantis feud as I think both candidates have strengths and weaknesses.
Yet as far as I can ascertain, the vast majority of the DeSantis supporters on this board are as “MAGA” as any Trump supporter. The main difference between the two candidates is stylistic and simply a matter of personal preference as I see it.
One notable difference however is all the deep pocketed “not Trump” money in the Republican Party will be landing on DeSantis. Now whether this is cause for concern is the main point of contention between the two camps.
Trump supporters say this is a sign that DeSantis will be coopted like the Tea Party. DeSantis supporters say that this is simply an outgrowth of Trump’s repeated tendencies to create conflict and drama where none is necessary.
I think both are reasonable points. Yet at this point — when neither candidate has even announced their intentions — arguing over these concerns does not serve the best interests of either camp.
