A police officer for the Phoenix Police Department died Sunday night and two others were injured while responding to a domestic violence call that turned chaotic, the department said in a statement.

The two other officers are expected to recover.

The deceased officer was identified as Greg Carnicle, a commander at the department who was months away from retirement. He served on the force for 31 years and was most recently the head of all evening and weekend patrol operations, the statement read.

People refused to change for the better. Some are from lack of support due to the virus bringing chaos. Others are doing things the wrong way in life. It is sad that America still got ways to go to fix all this. Too many people making poor choice in life!

Isolated incident.

Probably just fighting over the fish tank cleaner.

I just wonder if people who are predisposed to such incidents will be more inclined to ‘snap’ after weeks at home?

God bless these officers.

And this commander who was about to retire? Tragic.

There will be Cabin Fever incidents.

It's why Cabin Fever is a real thing.

No work, no watering hole to get away, no golf, only so much Netflix...

It's like everyone's life has turned into Everybody Loves Raymond.

Yep, there's definitely going to be more domestics.

Not trying to be a dick, but the type of people that have domestic issues are less likely to fall into the essential category. That means they're locked up together.

My wife and I have never had a problem, but I think I've seen her staring at me a couple of times calculating what my life insurance is worth.

My life was pretty bad in the last 35 years. I was dealing with people that were trying to take advantage of me and/or were trying to fix me that I was not needed fix. I had to deal with my severe sleep apnea that went on for about 35 years! I did get help for that but with all other situation going on was keeping me from getting the sleep corrected properly. Just this past winter I was able to get the right doctor and then was told to take melatonin and go back to using the sleep apnea machine but get a newer one. It took me about 3 months to start getting the REM(sleep 4 straight hours or more) for the first time in 30 or so years! I had a unnecessary major nose surgery about 20 years ago. The tissues in my nose that was replaced did not dissolved. When I saw this nurse she looked into my nose and said you have tissues that should have dissolved 1 month after surgery and then just 3 months ago it was completely gone. My body still got ways to go to heal. I was finally getting my REM. That was how bad I was not sleeping for so long. I am now getting tone muscles with just little workout. Huge difference of what I was missing for so long. No one told me about the tissues until this nurse and I was finally getting away from people in general so I could focus on my recovery. There are factors people needed to do to make it work. Got to get away from others that have been the problem and also had to move to find place to start over just way up Northwest St. Louis County from South St. Louis City. Working a lot better now.

I’ve seen women walking down deserted roads last few days with just purse and wondered if they’re trying to get away from being locked in home with husband

Is that like an "armed robbery gone wrong"?

With a more stressful environment and many cases where spouses are sheltered in place together for long periods of time, I’m thinking domestic violence will surely escalate.

The deaths from the quarantine and crashed economy do not matter. Only the deaths directly attributable to the virus matter. Did you not get the memo?

They'll just lump the former into the category of the latter. Then blame Trump.

Damn shame.

Had that happen a few years back in Chattanooga.
