And this TikToker will probably get kicked to the curb for exposing this.
Furious Philly charter school blasts TikTok videos showing multiple high schoolers unable to read basic sentences
quote:
A Philadelphia charter school has slammed a student's TikTok videos that showed how his teenage peers were unable to read or understand simple sentences. Preparatory Charter High School in South Philadelphia said the videos, which racked up millions of views and invited ridicule on its students, were out of context and did not reflect its education standards. In the clips titled 'Can You Read?', students were given a piece of paper with a basic sentence on it, but many were unable to read the words or explain what it meant. One video used the sentence, 'She wore a silhouette of clothes that were extraordinary but somewhat gauche' - with many students failing on the words 'silhouette' and 'extraordinary.' 'She wore a soooo.. clothes that were... who is this for?' one student said as she struggled to read.

Nothing a little midnight basketball can't fix.

We used to have just one or two classrooms for the tards. Maybe a single t-building. Now it's entire urban school systems full of intellectually stunted cretins.

They should have made it a simpler rap line...
"Bitch rocked a fit that was wild, kinda bold, kinda loud
ho looked real fancy, but she stood out in a crowd"

50 yrs of not failing illiterate kids. Who would have thought it would come to this?

And at this point they don’t even know better enough to know that it’s an issue or embarrassing.
And thanks to the 4illiterates in this country.

Whoever wrote that sentence doesn’t know what “silhouette” means.

Agree, but they couldn't even pronounce it.

Affirmative action will make sure these kids get into good colleges and DEI hiring/HR will make sure they get good paying jobs, where your white kids who worked their asses off to get rejected from ivy league schools and attended a state college, will answer to them, if they're lucky enough to get an entry level job at all.

Yeah, I was wondering how she wore a shadow of her clothes!
And although the word gauche was common in my childhood home, I don’t think its use here proves the point of illiteracy. Its usage is much less common these days.
(I’m in the age range of 60 and my mother was French-lite speaking Cajun.)
Nevertheless, illiteracy is rampant in our urban schools. Its the deep-boned RACISM of low expectations.

Brother, these kids aren't getting into any college, not even a public HBCU. Their ACTs will probably be around 10.
The entire system failed them. They will likely live on government assistance or work low skilled jobs for the rest of their lives. It's infuriating.
