they were in major panic control
i mean our society had already bought up all the fricking toilet paper, so it was a legitimate concern at the time

I think the real problem is tackling how/who we admit to hospitals for Covid. I don’t think there is a real plan there, so every fat or over 40 plus years old with symptoms has a case to be admitted.
this is a big problem for older patients b/c they have problems discharging them and a glut forms

If this is true, then if this virus was actually killing people who were healthy, the government knowingly killed them all because they had to save mask for hospital workers. This is borderline Genocide, but instead of attacking a race , they are attacking everyone who is not in healthcare. Thats pretty scary man
This is worth emphasizing.

i'd wager the vast majority of healthy people dying at that time were hospital workers who encountered massive viral loads all day long

quote:This is exactly where I’m at on the issue. A crafty friend sewed a bunch of cotton masks for my family back in late March that we’ve been wearing when expected. Now that they have become “mandatory” in public, I want something a little more convenient and semi-fashionable, so I ordered some made-in-USA black cotton gaiters from Bezos Inc that I plan on using exclusively once they arrive. Added benefit of marginal anonymity from facial recognition cameras.
I agree with this. There’s a degree of politeness that can be exhibited in wearing masks. I picked up a bunch of gaiters I can pull up over my face when I go into a store that requires a mask. It’s not my job to educate the public on the lack of efficacy of it all.

I’ve seen the opposite. Nearly every person mask shaming someone that I have seen has been a fat arse. I always wonder how someone that doesn’t give a damn about their health can get pissed at a stranger for “not protecting” them by wearing a mask

The toilet paper fiasco, like most of the unwarranted panic concerning Covid, is driven by stupid white women and soyboys on Social Media.

I'm not sure that is a retort that is relevant or accurate. You assume you won't get sick because of issues that there is no science to determine will keep you from contracting the virus (you likely would not die, based on the data, but conflating those things isn't useful on this point, though it is good you likely won't die).
Now we have to assume that the people you believe are wrong are fat and ugly deplorables that will either get sick or die. That strikes me as just a logical fallacy because there is no data to support the statment whatsoever.

Wrong.
Personally, the virus doesn't affect me.
If you feel, personally, that it does affect you or your life in any way, then you are free to wear one.
If granny wants to go to the grocery store, or invite her grandkids over for dinner, then that is entirely her personal choice. Why is it the government's responsibility to keep idiots safe?

You still didn't answer my question:
Outlaw alcohol.....
Outlaw candy, cake and other high-sugar foods....
Mandatory exercise period 5 days a week for all US Citizens.....
Outlaw all dangerous activities such as hiking, biking and camping.....
Limit all married couples to 1 child.....
These are all RESPONSIBLE things to do for the health, welfare and safety of Society.
You on board, fatass?

So those in society will act irrationally out of fear and do things with no relevance or significance to prepare for something they fear? That might be the best point you've made today, and, interestingly, it supports the fact that mask mandates are panic attempts to control a virus without evidentiary support.

you just proved my point. you wearing a mask isn't about you

again, not the point and why your retort has nothing to do with personal responsibility

i'm not arguing for government mandates
i'm arguing for personal responsibility

So wear your mask and let that be the end of it. If personal responsibility is your ethos, then let people decide what they think they should do. If you're scared, stay your arse at home. Don't wear a mask and go out, stay home.
