A NOLA lesson: one of the current important blacks in NOLA politics was an unknown, running for one of his first offices. He let the gay population know that he had dropped a gay rights bill in the hopper. He did nothing to get it passed nor was it publicized in the Times Pic. But that percentage (we knew two of them) were so delighted to have a man who liked gays to vote for.
Our friends are now dead, but their votes for him were the start of a career.

Identity politics is literally all they have. Its never about qualifications, just checking all the DEI boxes.

CIA Pete wasn't putting Kamala over the top against Trump.
The man was the worst transportation secretary in US history, had no record to run on prior to that worth talking about and isn't particularly charismatic.
