After all the bloviating by the Democrats over McCain's death and his time as a POW (this after crucifying him when he ran for president), to deny a guy who won a MOH in WWII is despicable. I'd put it on Biden's desk and make him say no. Do to him exactly what they did to Trump re McCain. To take out political grievances over Manchin on a private US citizen who served this country with the upmost honor is disgusting.

When they were alive, if you were to ask alot of them where they stood on individual issues like abortion, immigration etc. You'd swear they were Republican. But ask them who they would vote for and it would often be a Democrat, for two reasons and two reasons only. First is Medicare and social security. Second is frickin' Franklin Roosevelt. The so called "greatest generation" believed that motherfricker was President Jesus and because of him, remained loyal to the Democrats no matter what.
You can keep the mythos of the greatest generation. I know better.
I'm absolutely over the romance of the 2nd World War and this desperate, conservative desire to cling to it is sad. The United States hasn't fought an honorable foreign war since and likely never will again. World War 2 was so long ago, it might as well be...Well, last century.
Other than the men who were fighting the war, what did the greatest generation do besides prosper during a war time economy, drive on bald tires and ration sugar?
