Wonk is a word that is used to describe politicians that people naturally do not like. Hillary was a "policy wonk" despite having no coherent policy on anything. Ryan is a "tax wonk" even though he has no financial background.

Why? He’s not going to unseat someone in his own party.

Look how the GOPe have just about given up majority.

LINK

It is like they are democrats and want to get Trump out before doing their jobs. I challenge anyone to prove there is no uniparty.

I hope that was sarcasm.

He's been making trips to major corporations over the last couple weeks. Wouldn't be surprised to see him sign on for half million per year salary. It's not fair but it's how it works. See Eric Cantor.

He needs to take Mitch with him .

If Trump could drain the swamp on both sides like he is with the republicans then that alone would make him the best president ever.

That’s why trump needs to do everything to put legislation together for congressional term limits.

Tweet about it everyday until the media has to report on it. Force voters to primary any current sitting member opposed to the term limits.

No sarcasm. The news of his 'retirement' clearly does not rule out running in 2020.

Paul Ryan isn't running for president in 2016. He's running in 2020.

First of all, Trump will be re-elected in '20. Secondly, we've worked too hard to get an assertive pragmatist in the White House. Ryan would blow all that to kingdom come.

Ryan should be removed from Speaker immediately. Even a rumor that he may run for POTUS, while he's still in Congress with a member of his own party current POTUS, should prompt the GOP to call for his immediate resignation or face vote to remove him as Speaker.

People of WI - you are fricking idiots.

Wrong. A "policy wonk" is an umbrella term used to describe someone who likes to get in to the minutiae of public policy. "Tax Wonk" would be somebody who gets into the weeds on tax policy. The term "wonk" is typically used to describe a staffer, not a member. Some members can be wonks, but it is not typically something that would be used as a derogatory term.
