So i’ve caught portions of the show previously, but am actually watching a full episode. Holy shite, these “graduates” are dumb as a bag of rocks.
Can someone please tell me why its politicians jobs to fix the student debt crisis??? That is all this show bitches about...
Why not make better decisions in life? Just had a girl who has 110K in student debt, yet went and became a cop. Now she is bitching about her debt and not being able to pay it back and blaming the politicians for not taking care of her.

The guy that made it to the final rounds goal is to “go back to his community and teach financial literacy”.
You can’t make this shite up. So you rack up student debt, bitch that you can’t pay it back, want the government to wipe away your debt, then say you are going to go teach people how to be responsible with their finances...

A lot of the most egregious cases that the media cherry picks are people with private loans, in which there are no income based programs and there is much higher interest. You can't get $110,000 from the government to get an undergrad degree.

Every politician started pushing this bullshite idea that “everyone needs a college degree.”
Then once they created enough demand, and the universities happily obliged, they bought more votes from parents by offering the government’s checkbook to “guarantee” loans to people who shouldn’t have gotten them and for degrees that wouldn’t be worth the investment.
Then the greedy higher education system saw the river of money that had been directed their way and started cranking up bills through the roof.
So yes, the politicians have some responsibility to unfrick the system; though I don’t think that should be done by paying off debt.
ETA- I paid my own loans.

Higher Ed is mostly an indoctrination center now. Just a slush fund to transfer wealth to left wingers who can then donate to left wing causes.
