What kind of a lawyer would tape a client? So sad! Is this a first, never heard of it before? Why was the tape so abruptly terminated (cut) while I was presumably saying positive things? I hear there are other clients and many reporters that are taped - can this be so? Too bad!

Tons of attorneys record their clients for various reasons.

In another thread, it said that Trump gave permission for the tape to be released? What's the truth?

I still don’t understand how the government can release information that falls under the “attorney-client privilege”. I think that Cohen consented but did Trump also consent?

And how can that sleazy stripper lawyer know there are more tapes and what’s on them unless someone from the government is leaking the info to him?

Um yes they do, especially on phone calls. Believe it or not, attorneys are subject to pretty rigorous ethics and professional responsibility. If I have a problem client, you damn right I'm recording him so if he files a bar complaint on me, I'm protected. there are many other reasons, but you've already got your mind made up.

I think it is crap that this recording is leaked as it violates atty client privilege, but to say attorneys do not record their clients is ludicrous.

Sounds like he’s implying the lawyer didn’t tape the client. Perhaps someone else did.. Obama... oops did I say that out loud?

Do you let them know you are recording the conversation?

Dan Bongino brought up a very good point last night about the recorded phone calls. He said if Trump was in New York there is no problem with the recordings because New York is a one party consent state, BUT if Trump was in Florida for any of the calls then Cohen broke the law if he did not inform Trump he was recording the calls because Florida is a 2-party consent state.

Sometimes, but I do not have to since LA is a one party state.

STFU. there is not a day that goes by that I do not consider an ethical issue. I like to keep my license.

Read the Rules of Professional conduct and tell me they are not strict.
