So why don’t we just stack another epic pandemic on top of this one?
It doesn’t matter. The flu kills lots of people too!

7 months? Lol, it’s widely accepted that this virus has been here since January, and seasonal flu only lasts roughly 4 months!
And let’s not pretend that flu deaths are tallied the same way covid deaths are.

Honest question. Do you believe this number would be lower with someone else in office?

We have the best and greatest flu seasons

7 months and 215,000 deaths later and the only difference is now hes just making up a new number about the flu. Yall are livin in a fantasy world if you think this does anything but crater his campaign.
Guess what...I am still going to vote for him...even with your "Gotcha"
Anyone the establishment hates this much has to be good for the non-establishment regular folks.

Just out of curiosity, how many of those died from covid and how many died with covid?

There was no gothca. Go read my post on the first page. It's all about comprehension.

An estimated 97k to 100k died in 1960 from flu. He's not wrong.

Perhaps the messaging won't resonate with John Q Public, but if this becomes endemic, and many believe it will, then we will have to learn to live with it. And that will be true no matter who wins this election.

From 2017 CDC
Heart disease: 650K
Cancer: 600K
Accidents: 170K
Respiratory: 160K
Stroke: 146K
Alzheimers: 121K
Diabetes: 83K
Influenza & Pneumonia: 55K
In this context, 215K deaths in 8+ months is relatively modest. There is a decent peak in excess mortality from April through July, but we are now dipping below seasonal averages. So it's unclear if there will be excess death due to COVID19 once the books are closed on 2020.
And I don't credit our government at any level. Our healthcare community learned how to care for these patients on the fly and adapted incredibly well. It's really pretty amazing what they have done with case fatality rates since June.

Some folks die from the flu. Other folks die with the flu.
We don't automatically assume #1.

If democrat governors wouldn’t have shoved COVID patients into nursing homes, the death rate would look like the flu.
Most true statement in this thread. Cuomo and other Dem governors killed thousands of elderly Americans.
