Origin of "Tolerant Left"

A lot of it I think is centered around a Christian principle of love your neighbor. Don't hate on someone because of their race, country of origin, age, gender, sexual orientation. You know, things that Jesus would want you to follow.

Clearly many have taken it waaaaaay too far. The NYT article about Mario being sexist because Peach is always trapped in the castle is just ridiculous. LINK

Because lefties are supposed to be so inclusive of alternative life styles and of different races and ethnicities.

Being a "bleeding heart" means you care and empathize with the plights of others and are welcoming of them.

Truth is lefties are full of shite and just use these things as excuses for victimhood and to score shaming points.

If you believe different from the left, you are not "included" or "welcome". You are the enemy.

The entire belief system is one big ball of "intolerance" and hypocrisy.

The French Revolution. The Left has a certain "personality" that has been demonstrated through the centuries. To understand Conservatives you have to understand Liberty and the American Revolution. To understand Liberals you have to understand Equality and The French Revolution.

American liberals see themselves as "Equality Avengers". They are so zealous in this pursuit to achieve human equality at all costs that they have made a mockery of the word "tolerance" and have reverted back to their truer "French Revolution" selves. The one we see now, that can barely contain their violent tendencies and behaves in a shrill and irrational manner.

They aren't "tolerant" and they never have been. They just seek Equality, which while sounding nice, results in them depriving others of their Liberty. They are far more French in disposition than American.

I always thought it stemmed from earlier days of the progressive movement when they referred to conservatives as being "intolerant" - everything we did was labelled as acts of intolerance.

Hence, they themselves must be the 'tolerant' ones. I don't think they ever called themselfves that - but just from their labelling everything they opposed as being 'intolerant.'

When they garnered complete control of the media and higher education the format was in place for them to control the narrative. Conservatives were always reluctant to push back and the left felt more and more emboldened with each passing decade they went unchallenged.

However, the left has never been tolerant of others who harbor differing views nor have they ever been inclusive.
