If tweet fails to load, click here. This sort of bullshite is why Trump said that companies asking for handouts need to give the American people some stake AKA our new sovereign wealth fund

Ron is right.
Also funny that we are barely into the buildout and Altman is already asking for handouts.

You’re take away from a company wanting the government to mitigate its downside risk is . . . have the government take equity stakes in companies?
This is an echo of 2008 that will absolutely consume whichever party is dumb enough to approach this.

Im for none of it, but if we are going to bail out any company, then the least they can do is offer a stake to the taxpayers at least until they pay the bailout money back.
What we did in 2008-2010 for banks should have never happened again but we turned right around and did it for auto makers.

Yes, investment. Unless you think the stock market is socialist.

... funny you should mention this, because the 2008 crash was nothing but a bank robbery to steal funds to pay for the new super computer.
Ghost records , money --- poof it's gone
The culprits, being bank robbers to being with, needed an astronomical sum of cash --- right away, like yesterday. They found out the request could not go through Congress , the normal way --- so what do they do???
Rob the banks
So, now that history has settled down on 2008, the question is " where did all the money go???
It went to build that new super computer buried in a bunker outside the city limits of Las Vegas
That's where
Oh, but gosh darn ...
That shiny supercomputer blew up ...
Just before the 2020 election because of a kill switch that was in the program
Oh darn ...
That's why they want federal Backstop
They are scared $$$ hitless

I am beginning to genuinely think the AI bubble might pop sometime in the next year.
I mean… geez, it’s gotten to the point of begging for federal money after only like 2 years? Maybe ole Sam shouldn’t have made $1T of promises while bringing in $50B per year in revenue. The entire model seems to be “we can definitely figure out how to bring in 20x more revenue in a couple years, no worries!”
Somehow I doubt kids are willing to pay 800 dollars a month to use Chat GPT to do homework.
