I live in Kingwood, TX. I have yet to see an open carry. Most "normal" people do not want to alarm others unnecessarily, and open carry is just an ostentatious maneuver. I like open carry, in that, if some crazy person happens to catch a glimpse of my concealed pistol by accident (shirt rides up), we could lose our license before open carry was in play. Now, it doesn't seem to bother anyone.

I open carry at the farm. It is the only place I do. If I run up to the coop or town I untuck my shirt or put on a jacket. I have never had any complaints.

No, it isn't. Some people do it for the attention it brings, but they're easy enough to ignore.

I carry a S&W Shield 9mm in the summer time with an extra mag in my pocket and a SIG P226 in 9mm during the fall and a SIG P229 DAK SAS in SIG 357 in the winter.

I am a 2A guy. Thinking about crime, I would say CC holders criminal activity is next to zero. Open carry in TX is allowed with a CC license. If one is open carrying without a CC, charges can be filed. Open carry law tends to free CC holders from alarm freaks screaming because they may have caught a glimpse of a pistol handle when concealed. No, I have yet to see an open carry in my experience. Basically, it is stupid.

I live in a fairly small (and VERY Republican) place, and there is one guy who open-carries regularly. People talk about it, and he is a laughingstock.

Ill never open carry, and I carry concealed everyday. People who open carry will be the first person a criminal shoots when the shite goes down. Like when a robber enters a bank the first person to get shot (or subdued) is the guard.
Actually I think open carry people are just looking for attention. Kinda like people who have blue or purple hair and wear something outlandish. Their daddy didnt love them and they need attention.

In Florida it’s not a violation if your CCW is inadvertently exposed. It protects you against somebody freaking out because your shirt rides up when you bend over or the wind blows your jacket open. I’m surprised Texas doesn’t have something similar.
