Morale patches, all militaries love a skull and some bones.

You are the biggest liar on this board. Not one unit in the US Army or Marine Corps wears skull morale patches.

Did you even serve in the Army or was that another big lie from our local Cuckboy?

You ok you sound angry?

Google US Military skull patches and see what comes up. About half of the things that will pop up are unit patches.

I don't give a damn. We support Ukraine in a proxy war against Russia until Putin is out of office. Deal with it.

It is and has been the way the USA does statecraft for a century.

I believe it Zelensky is a hero to the West but will be interesting see what happens. I would expect the Nazis to probably sieze power. They aren't going to lay down their arms peacefully. The Ukranians may even get more radicalized because they (Nazis) are the ones who stood up to the Russians and fought.

We have spent a lot of money, covered for a lot of bad people, and helped kill a lot of people in years past for a political objective of our political elite. Our work has often made the situation worse and even bitten us in the arse, whether it be funding saddam in the 80s against Iran, funding Assad because he was against saddam, funding afghan warlords and Islamists because they were against soviets, etc etc.

We are funding some very bad people in Ukraine because they are against Russia. With billions of dollars and weapons. And we are lying and covering about who they are. And we don’t really know what we’re doing in terms of where this money and these weapons go.

Ukraine is a fractured, corrupt state. Zelensky is a failure joke. He is a prop by the west and the neo Nazis in Ukraine to fuel their policy.

I say this not to defend Russia or claim their actions are justifiable. They are not. I’m saying this to point out that the situation is fragmented and complex and there is no good guy in this fight. And we should really stay out of it instead of throwing lots of gas on the fire and instead push for a ceasefire.

And it’s cost us dearly. And others too.

I have no dog in the hunt when it comes to Ukraine and Russia. I will say this though about the Nazi connection and Ukraine, to understand it you will have to first understand the history of Ukraine and a Russia/Soviet Union, especially in the period between 1919-1941. With this you’ll also need to understand the relationship between Ukraine and Germany during WWII. Long story short, the Russians/Soviets killed millions of Ukrainians between the world wars. Many in Ukraine viewed the Germans liberators. Some of that sentiment has endured to today.

I’m not defending or condemning anything, just giving some historic context to the connections between Ukraine & Nazism.

This was a pretty good article the other day that sums up what could have been. Alas, our foreign policy is to pump weapons in on one side and pray it works.

How often have we pumped money and guns to who we thought were the good guys only to have them ally with (or be taken over by) the bad guys? Look no further than our recent adventures in the Middle East.

Meh, military units of many nations have used the skull and bones for centuries.

You’re correct. But the soldier in that tweet is wearing the SS Totenkopf that was specific to them. It’s a variant of the historic Prussian Totenkopf that dates back to the time of Fredrick the Great. Here…

Traditional Prussia Totenkopf:

Notice the skull has no lower jaw. This same version of the Totenkopf was used by Prussian and later German units up to the 1940s. During WWII Heer panzer units, descendants of Hussar cavalry, wore this same Totenkpf:

The SS however, designed their own Totenkpf. SS Totenkpf has the lower jaw, which makes telling difference between the SS and Heer Totenkpf easy.

So the guy in the OP is wearing the SS Totenkpf.

It has nothing to do with Good or Bad. It has everything to do with keeping Russis, Russia and not allowing the re-emergence of the Soviet Union.

Allowing the CONTINUED expansion of Russian control eventually leads to a return to the Soviet Union. We have been there and done that. We already paid for this ground and now we pay to keep it.

Good points Darth. And some of those connections were ugly, Ukrainians were used by the Germans to handle partisan (Ukrainians) suppression. Its long and has subtitles but the movie "Come and See" shows that in graphic detail.
