I would go with property owners and include legally registered vehicles in the property description...

Hell most don't pay taxes...
How about we compromise and you actually have to pay Federal taxes to vote? State taxes to vote in State elections... property and sales taxes do not count...

Yeah, I agree you should have some sort of stake involved in order to vote, but land ownership seems like a pretty arbitrary basis to go off of in determining someone’s stake in the country. I honestly believe there should be a legitimate test for everyone that wants to vote. Letting ignorant people vote is a threat to democracy, and our republic will not last so long as the ignorant are being bribed to vote a certain way.

Landowners have something at stake. Lazy people that live off the government shouldn't have a say about their pay because they have an id.

People receiving government benefits should have their voting rights curtailed.
The obvious vote buying by unscrupulous politicians has gotten out of control.

I agree on the land ownership part but there are other forms of property that put skin in the game...
