Perhaps. But, there is apolitical price to bring impeachment, too

As I said, political suicide and would just make the howls for additional investigation louder. But, NOT illegal. It just isn't.

It's important to note that Trump had the authority to shut things down but refused to do so. That, in itself, should be all the evidence needed to show that he wasn't obstructing anything. He let the witch hunt go on for two years.

Not if intent of the investigation was to undermine or impede the Presidency.

Something else that is important to note is that when a jury trial takes place, potential jurors are removed if they show bias one way or another.

Mueller chose not only Dems, but major dem donors. That right there would have been a great reason to fire Mueller, but President Trump didn’t. He let it go on.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nationalreview.com/2018/05/robert-mueller-russia-probe-democrats-dominate-staff/amp/

14 are Democrats
Three are party-unaffiliated
None is a Republican
Twelve are Democratic donors
One also is a Republican donor
Two maxed out as Hillary Clinton donors

He should have fired both because they had serious conflicts of interest. He had the constitutional authority. A more impartial person could have been chosen.

Correct. He could have fired Mueller and had someone else appointed. But he didn’t. So it’s disgusting that the Dems are STILL sky screaming

You’re right, but what about instructing people to make false statements. Did he do that? If so, that might get him there.

Google “Saturday night massacre.” Nixon ordered his AG to fire the special prosecutor. That was the act that ultimately led to his resignation to avoid impeachment for obstruction of justice.

And you can bet this is the reason Trump’s lawyer’s prevented him from firing Sessions and Mueller.

That is my point....isn't it constitutional for a president to fire ANYbody in the executive branch? This is why in my other post I mention that its starting to look like Nixon may have gotten a bad deal. I wonder if he was railroaded like dems are trying to do to Trump now.

Would firing Mueller have shut down the investigation? Or would another one have been appointed?
