Obstruction of Justice? OR is that Trump, as president, executing his constitutional right? I mean, this obstruction BS is irrelevant if Trump has the authority to fire the investigators, does it not? I'm no lawyer so....?

Also, didn't H.W. Bush fire one at the beginning of his term...wasn't it Iran Contraband?

You are missing the legality of the whole issue. A president can't be indited. This is to protect the institution and to keep separation of powers. can't have a state or regional fed power try to derail the office.

Founding fathers put into place the proper checks and balance. that is if there is an issue worth removing from office, then they Indite in congress and then senate hold trial and can remove after 2/3 vote...

A president can't obstruct in the classical term to obstruct, but congress/senate can determine the president is abusing his power/using power illegially and remove

I'm just not a Bush fan; of any of them.

I'll never vote for another one.

This. US Attorneys, etc., can be fired or replaced in the middle of any investigation they're working on and there's nothing that can be done about it. Happens all the time, they just don't make the news unless it's a Republican who fires or replaces them.

It depends on the intent. He can have authority and the act still be obstructive.

Wasn't Bill Clinton indited? Star laid out charges.

Well that is exactly what is happening!!

So disliking the president and then using an investigation (which may have been predicated from a frame job-we don't know yet) is "worth removing from office"? Are there no standards, meaning legality, before trying to remove a president? For example, could republicans have tried to remove Obama for subverting the constitution by implementing DACA?

congress/senate can determine the president is abusing his power/using power illegially and remove

But what does that mean? If SC was fired, how would that obstruct? Wouldn't another one be appointed? Hell, Comey's firing didn't stop FBI from investigating and a SC wasn't even needed. Am I missing something?

Wouldn't that require an obstructive act....like smashing hard drives that were subpoenaed or something similar?

It only matters what the votes say in a Impeachment. The charges can be jay walking if they wish.

He can still fire anyone in the EB...it's congress that has exploration and review powers in which they could impeach...

It would be ridiculous to impeach over firing his own people

Then this whole charade is disgusting! As an independent who cares very little for most republicans and absolutely despises democrats b/c they are shady evil liars, this is definitely a turn-off. I can see why the American public is always so against impeachment.

Google “Saturday night massacre.” Nixon ordered his AG to fire the special prosecutor. That was the act that ultimately led to his resignation to avoid impeachment for obstruction of justice.

And you can bet this is the reason Trump’s lawyer’s prevented him from firing Sessions and Mueller.

Unless he fired someone with the intent of shutting down an investigation without looking like he was the one shutting it down

WTF?

You can do an "illegal" thing without bad intent and (possibly) get away with it.

But, you CANNOT do a LEGAL thing with bad intent and get arrested for it.

political suicide. And, would create a call for more investigation, etc. But, NOT illegal
